What to Bring

What do I need to bring with me when I drop my pet off for boarding?

– completed Bliss Boarding form(s), find the forms here
– vaccination records
– medicine and detailed instructions
– food, if desired, preferably in a resealable bag/container
– possibly a familiar item from home, but we can provide bedding and toys
– anything else you think would help your pet feel more at home

Should I bring my pet’s own food and personal items?

This is up to you. We have everything here that your pet needs from food and treats to bedding and toys. However, you are more than welcome to bring your own from home. A lot of pets do better staying on their regular diet from home and have less trouble with upset stomachs from switching foods. If your pet has any food allergies or dietary concerns, we definitely recommend supplying your own food. We have a refrigerator and full kitchen to prepare special diets, so don’t hesitate to ask about any special needs. Also, if you bring your own food from home, we request that you bring it in a resealable container/bag, but it is not necessary to pre-bag each meal unless you would like to do so. If you prefer, we provide the high protein, Taste of the Wild brand food which has no corn, no wheat, no soy for an additional $4.00 per day. We supply blankets and bedding at no additional charge. Please remember that Bliss Boarding cannot be responsible for lost or destroyed (or chewed!) bedding/toys.

One other thing to do before you bring your pet…

We strongly recommend the use of flea/tick preventive and use them on our own pets. Several great options are available and you should discuss these options with your vet. If your pet is discovered to have fleas upon check in, we will treat your pet at your expense to prevent the spread to any of the other animals in our care. As with most issues, prevention is the best treatment! Also, if your pet is due for its prevention while here, don’t hesitate to bring it, and we will be happy to administer it.

Our family dog takes a pill once a month called, Comfortis. It is available through your vet and it really works! Jonesie has not had any side effects and it’s a tiny pill and it is so worth the price to NOT have to deal with fleas on the dog or in the house. We highly recommend this type of medication because fleas really suck. (Get it?) (-:
